Liberty Activist Kirby Harris: I am Voting For a Cross Party Ticket

I am truly voting for a cross party ticket. I am voting Libertarian Party Robert Sarvis for Senate, Republican Party Dave Brat for Congress in the 7th District and after researching the Chesterfield Clerk of Circuit Court candidates I have switched my vote from Republican Wendy Hughes to Independent Wayne Schneider for Clerk of Circuit Court. Schneider seems to be a more qualified independent voice, and Hughes is backed by mostly by the regular bad players of the Republican establishment.

The Richmond Rally held to urge Eric Cantor and Congress To Defund Obamacare made some national news.

Though they didn't mention the Tea Party or any Local Tea Party groups specifically when reporting on the rally at Cantor's home office, at least the Cantor Defund Obamacare Richmond Area Tea Party event was covered. Though its sad it didn't go after Cantor more, but consider the source. I believe CBN News is too close to much of the GOP mainstream leaders to report this the way it should have been reported..

Is it time for the Tea Party to become a political party?

I don't always agree politically with Judson Phillips, but I saw this article in the Washington Times Community Section, and he is spot on 100% regarding this issue of the Republican Party using the Tea Party with nothing in return for the Tea Party.

But while I agree 100% with his synopsis in this particular article about how the GOP Establishment only uses and manipulates the Tea Party, while it disdains them and then ignores them and offers them nothing in return, if the Tea Party does become a political party will it be born with basically the same divide it has now?

Especially the divide on foreign policy? Will a new party with mostly the same old cast of characters from the old Republican Party who latch on to the Tea Party, even if its in name only, avoid the same pitfalls of the current Republican Party?

Yes it will be devoid of the John McCains, Lindsay Graham's, John Boehners and Eric Cantors because of issues like amnesty and capitulation to Obama and the democrats, but it will still have the foreign policy divide, among a few other issues, that we are currently witnessing in a fight between libertarian conservatives and neoconservatives.

What's the point of starting a new 'Tea Party' party, if we just carry the baggage from one party to another? You tell me.

Here is a snippet of the article so you can decide:

It is time for the Tea Party to divorce the Republican Party and start its own political party.

Nature abhors a vacuum, and the Tea Party swept into the political vacuum left by the Republican Party in 2009. There was no voice for conservatives. The GOP had surrendered to its big government wing. And because of that, the GOP had been shellacked in 2006 and 2008.

The GOP would not stand up for conservative principles and the Tea Party was born.
In 2010, the Tea Party swept the Republicans into power in the House of Representatives.
What does the Tea Party have to show for it?

For the last two and a half years, the Tea Party has watched House Speaker John Boehner raise his freshly laundered white flag of surrender time and time again. (Read the Article Here)

What The Media Isn't Telling You About Syria (Watch Video)

Those wanting to go to war with Syria need to really think about what is going on there, and what we are not being told by our government and the media. Not to mention it is Unconstitutional to go to war with a nation when there is no direct imminent threat to the United States. And Democrats Obama, John Kerry, and Nancy Pelosi and Republicans John McCain and Lindsey Graham are on the same team? (read more).

Add Eric Cantor and John Boehner to Obama's team to attack Syria with air strikes. (Read about it here)

At the very least this is going to incite the Cold War all over again. Should I mention our troops will be fighting alongside Al Qaeda?

At the worst...yes. WWIII is a strong potential...and that is the unfortunate reality.

Upcoming Events

It was great to see you all at the Chesterfield Tea Party meeting this evening. I'm looking forward to working with each of you to promote the ideals of individual liberty as embodied in classical liberalism.

Just a reminder:

Tuesday September 3rd, I will be speaking to the Patrick Henry Supper Club - Richmond area Libertarians. You may arrive at 6:00 p.m. to order food and enjoy good fellowship and my speech will begin at 7:00 p.m. This is very informal and my talk will be about "What Eric Cantor has been doing lately." I hope you can make it.

Wednesday September 4th from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. the Richmond Tea Party is holding a protest at Eric Cantor's westend office on Dominion Blvd. to encourage him to vote against amnesty for illegal aliens and to vote to defund Obamacare. Bring a sign and your comfortable shoes.

Afterward we will move right across the street to the Marriott Hotel for a RTP sponsored "Town Hall Meeting." Eric Cantor has been invited, but we all know he won't show up, so the RTP will have an empty chair to represent Cantor. The audience may ask questions which will be answered by video interviews of Cantor from past news/TV appearances. It should be fun. I hope you can make it.

And remember - I prefer dangerous freedom to peaceful slavery.

Virginia 7th District Republican Primary Candidate Interviews

Kirby Harris wrote an earlier column about Eric Cantor having a challenger in the Republican Primary (here), so I thought I would follow it up with interviews.
With the Republican Primary for Virginia's 7th District fast approaching on June 12th, a few days ago I extended an invitation to both candidents, Eric Cantor and Floyd Bayne, giving both candidates the exact same amount of time to respond to my request. As I figured would happen, Eric Cantor stood me up in 2012 like he did in 2010 (read about it here). Floyd Bayne granted me an interview.
*Stay tuned for Kirby's interview with independent occupy candidate for the 7th District congressional seat Dr. Vivek Jain.

Chesterfield Tea Party Endorses Floyd Bayne in the Republican Primary

The Chesterfield Tea Party endorses Floyd Bayne in the Republican Primary on June 12th.

Conservatives need some one like Floyd in Washington.

Floyd is a constitutional Conservative who will represent the people and their liberties in Congress and not sell out to special interests.

Our current representative has voted for big government and liberty stealing legislation for a decade. Its time for him to go and time for new Conservative leadership.
